In 2024, Vermont passed a ban on cellphones in schools. This was a crucial first step. Social media is a public health emergency. Unaccountable tech companies are exploiting our children for profit and driving them to self-harm, depression, suicide, and other mental health challenges. Nikhil calls on Vermont to impose a ban on social media for children under the age of 16, following the lead of Australia. It’s time to take back control for the sake of our children’s health and well-being. 

Nikhil supports a moratorium on new data centers in Vermont. We need to enact clear guardrails for artificial intelligence that protect workers, students, power grids, and the public at large.
